Gruner Veltliner 2014

$18.23

TASTING NOTES

Rare in Canada, this wine offers intense floral notes, ripe apple, nectarine, lemon and the varietal trademarks of celery and white pepper. A crisp, dry and mineral palate with a hint of spiciness and herbal notes. Enjoy with delicate foods, baked sole or other white fish or risotto with spring vegetables.

WINEMAKING

Located on the valley floor below Macintyre Bluff, Oliver BC, our small 3.41 acre estate vineyard was blessed with 1,699 growing degree days in 2014. Sunshine followed with exhaustive canopy management produced quality mature grapes at harvest.

Our dreams became reality after more hard work on September 23 and 24, 2014 when the Gruner Veltliner grapes were harvested. The grapes were de-stemmed and fermented cold in stainless steel tanks. Blending and bottling took place mid September 2014 to bring our dream to your table.

  1. John Ness

This is a crisp and fresh wine with aromas and flavours of peaches, nectarines and melon. It has good weight in the palate and has a slightly tangy finish. 91. – John Schreiner. June 15, 2016
